How long does applying take?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

It takes most students a week or so to gather all the pieces, but the application itself should only take a couple of hours. Most of what we ask for you already know or have on hand. The writing sample is an opportunity to express your passion and goals. And your micro-portfolio can be created from all the great things you have going on in your classroom right now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

When is the application deadline? <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

There is no deadline for applications. We accept them year-round, and new students start the program every month. To begin during any given month, submit your application by the 20th of the previous month. We take this time to review your application and get you enrolled in your first course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Do I have to complete my application in one sitting?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

You can save your application and come back to it later. It will expire after 60 days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Can I take a course while I work on my application? <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

Absolutely! A lot of students take a course or two prior to enrolling in the degree. This is a great way to build your repertoire and get a head start on your degree before you hear back about your application.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

What should I include in my micro-portfolio? <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

Your micro-portfolio can include anything that shows your work as an artist or educator. You could provide images of your classroom, students in the artmaking process, your artwork or student work, displays\u2014anything you\u2019re proud of. Make sure your images are clear and well-lit!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

I haven\u2019t written a paper in a long time. What does my writing sample need to contain?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

No worries\u2014this will be a quick write-up. Your writing sample should cover two topics: why art education is important and why you want to earn a master\u2019s degree. Stay focused on the topics, keep it between 1\u20132 pages, and make sure it\u2019s free of spelling and grammatical errors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Where do I send my transcripts?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

Transcripts need to be sent directly from the issuing institution.
You can have them sent electronically or by mail. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
